Process Engineer
Working closely with department supervisors, lead persons, setup personnel, and programmers, the Process Engineer ensures that parts meet customer specifications while optimizing processes for efficiency and quality. This involves evaluating previous work orders, monitoring production processes, recommending alternative tooling or fixturing, and collaborating with inspection to ensure compliance with print dimensions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize ERP system to initiate planning and production for new customer orders.
  • Evaluate previous work orders to identify process issues and implement improvements.
  • Monitor production processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Recommend alternative tooling or fixturing to enhance workflow and part quality.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to procure necessary materials and recommend metallurgical specifications.
  • Assess machinery and determine optimal production machines based on cost and capacity.
  • Coordinate with shop personnel to release work orders and provide necessary documentation.
  • Facilitate programming by ensuring programmers have all relevant information.
  • Provide guidance on corrective actions for nonconforming parts, working closely with QC/QA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technologies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Manufacturing Process Engineer role.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and understanding contract documents.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk, and ERP Software.
  • Knowledgeable in CNC machining and programming; familiarity with robot programming is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Must be available to work in-person at our St. Louis, MO location.
