Role: Lead Software Development Engineer

Location: O'Fallon, MO (Remote till Covid-19)

Duration: 06 Months Plus

Summary Description

Overview

1. Push Payments Development team owns a number of applications, primarily focusing on the Mastercard Send application.
2. Mastercard Send is an API-based application which primarily focuses on P2P and Disbursement transactions and is heavily integrated with Mastercard core applications.
3. Responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions.
4. Develop, customize, and test applications to integrate to MasterCard's specifications.
5. Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical training to other team members.

Role

1. Accountable for systems development prioritized initiatives supporting Mastercard Send.
2. Plan, design, and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes, and best practices.
3. Adapt to the technical artifact templates per the needs of the project and technology.
4. Contribute ideas to help ensure that required standards and processes are in place.
5. Research and evaluate current and upcoming technologies and frameworks.
6. Participate in PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help the Department with selection of Vendor Solutions, Technologies, Methodologies, and Frameworks.

All About You

1. Must be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and have the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.
2. Possesses strong communication skills -- both verbal and written, and strong relationship, collaborative skills, and organizational skills.
3. Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering.
4. Advanced level work experience in job offered, or as Software Engineer, Technology Lead, or related qualifying experience must include.
5. Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and to work as a member of a matrix-based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
6. Experience with Digital payments such as P2P payment and/or disbursements.

Skills:

1. LEAD EXPERIENCE + Spring Boot, Java, Cloud (PCF preferred but will look at others), Restful API, microservices.

3. What are a couple of desired/nice to have skills?
4. Experience designing a full-scale application. Jenkins scripting, BlazeMeter, NoSQL database.

6. Communication and good organization skills are a must.
7. Is there anything that would automatically disqualify a candidate?
8. No Java experience.
9. Candidates need to be advanced for the Lead position. Typically 7 years of experience minimum.
10. Experience LEADING others on the team.
