Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Overview: We are looking for a skilled assembler to build custom mobile material handling machinery for rail-related markets. This role involves using mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assembly techniques, as well as welding and electrical wiring.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly:
    • Assemble parts and components at workstations using hand and power tools.
    • Follow blueprints, BOMs, and other instructions to ensure accurate and timely assembly.
  • Testing and Calibration:
    • Test and calibrate parts to meet specifications.
    • Identify and repair any units that do not meet quality standards.
  • Wiring:
    • Connect electrical cabling according to wiring diagrams.
    • Assemble wiring panels and junction boxes as needed.
  • Machinery Maintenance:
    • Rebuild, clean, and adjust machinery as necessary.
    • Prepare machinery for shipping.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the workspace.
    • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years in a custom build shop preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
    • Proficient with hand tools and measuring devices.
    • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Mechanical aptitude and critical thinking.
    • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted (up to 100 pounds with assistance).
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and exposure to fumes.
