Summary

This role is a member of the engineering team and is based in our Hebron, KY surface technology plant. The Development Engineer role is tasked with designing new processes and optimizing existing ones to support strategic divisional objectives, ensuring efficient project management and technical excellence across multiple locations.

Major Responsibilities

  • Innovate and develop new processes tailored to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Lead the design and execution process of DOE’s, analyzing results to enhance development outcomes.
  • Manage project timelines effectively, ensuring milestones are met and projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the development and qualification stages, fostering strong relationships.
  • Identify and implement cost-reducing methods, improving production efficiency and reducing expenses.
  • Provide expert engineering support to resolve quality issues, enhancing product excellence.
  • Evaluate and pursue capital investment opportunities to support organizational growth and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and process specifications during development phases.
  • Engage in presentations to stakeholders both internally and externally, showcasing project developments and successes.
  • Champion safety and maintain high standards of housekeeping within the work environment.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support the engineering team's objectives. Supervise the preparation of regular reports on project progress and special reports dealing with unique circumstances or problems including recommendations for their resolution.
  • Responsible for asset management decision-making concerning strategic plans, budgets, and equipment.
  • This position impacts sub-division financials and as such will perform duties in a fiscally responsible manner.

We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following Qualifications

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • 4-year degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or Materials Science Engineering.
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering functions. Experience with surface coatings and metallurgical evaluations preferred.
  • Experience in Lean concepts.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Strong Leadership skills complemented by excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems AS9100 and NADCAP is preferred.
  • Robotic and or PLC experience is a plus.
  • General experience with engineering CAD software.
  • Willing to travel as needed to support remote locations.
