Position: Linux Engineer - L3

Duration: 12+ months Contract

Location: Remote

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting Open Source Linux (CentOS, Rocky, RHEL -free)
  • Performed as Lead/Senior level resource, who has strong experience in enterprise level Linux engineering
  • Experience with Perl, Bash or other standard scripting languages
  • Open minded/curious or experienced with automation via scripting (moving away from legacy mindsets around things not getting updated). Experience with Ansible is nice to have.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Day to day support/administration and patching.
  • Experience in deploying, configuring, and managing/supporting Linux-based systems in a business environment.

Coordination and Compatibility:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of fully tested and compatible devices that meet product requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to enable optimal usage of Linux technology.
  • Linux Instance Management: Create, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux instances across multiple networks and architectures.
  • Address issues reported by customers to ensure smooth operation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A typical Linux engineer holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong scripting and computing skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and working with cloud systems is valuable.
  • Certification: CompTIA Linux+ certification or other relevant Linux certifications is nice to have, but not required.
