Job Description

What You’ll Do

A Network Engineer working directly with our end client in staff augmentation role. Successful candidate will:

  • Work as a member of a team to provide ongoing maintenance and implementation of our client network infrastructure.
  • Work independently on selected tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Ensures stability, availability, reliability and security of the production network environment.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various technical and non-technical factors.
  • Perform daily problem resolution, preventive maintenance and performance tuning, all within best practice standards.


The Network Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for rapid and efficient day-to-day problem analysis and resolution techniques.
  • Coordinates WAN connections to remote sites to ensure proper integration with LAN environment.
  • Provides backup support to telecommunications and enterprise network projects.
  • Interfaces with present and potential customers, many of whom are a part of a very complex, integrated network.
  • Responsible for implementing the strategies necessary to reach our objectives.
  • Provides leadership to Support Analysts on day-to-day network troubleshooting issues as it relates to desktop or telephone support.
  • Analyzes client requirements and recommends appropriate hardware and software solutions to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Be available outside of business hours to perform network tasks, as necessary
  • Assist on network & security projects. Knowledge of Cisco, Aruba for route/switch and Aruba wireless.
  • Monitor Fresh tickets queue and assigned to SPAN FNOC where applicable.
  • Can troubleshoot Cisco CUCM and UCCX.
  • Knowledge of routing.
  • Quick learner and able to be confident and jump in while learning.
  • Proficient in English.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Related Field or Five (5) years’ experience in related field.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work on projects both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues within all aspects of Information Technology.
  • Ability to deal with a rapid and fast paced changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time, and able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work.


Tech Requirements:

  • Ability to understand, recommend, and implement LAN/WLAN/WAN functionality.
  • Must have a good understanding of Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, VoIP and wireless systems as well as comfort with most common network concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.
