Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

DSJ Global is partnered with a Food Equipment Manufacturer out of the Nashville Metro area on a new Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the R&D department. This position is responsible for hands-on design, technical development, and computer analysis for new capital machinery and technologies.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA)
• Design components for manufacturing using processes like machining, sheet metal bending/rolling, welding, CNC machining, and Autodesk Inventor CAD models
• Develop test procedures, conduct product testing, and validate for production
• Manage project schedules and budgets
• Conduct Root Cause Analyses and develop Corrective Action Plans
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure components meet design requirements and diagnose design problem

Must have Experience

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant experience with an MS in Mechanical Engineering
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation, preferably using Autodesk Inventor
• Proficiency in performing structural FEA using tools like MSC Nastran or similar to accurately predict performance
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• Design of heavy machinery, preferably for food processing equipment

Salary: 90,000-115,000
