What You Will Do
- Query data using SQL and optimize SQL query performance for large datasets.
- Utilize cloud-based databases including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Improve data processing workflows.
- Apply knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Construct ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration, such as: Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSMS, SSAS, SSRS), Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Transform data using Python.
- Develop dashboards using Tableau and Power BI.
- Gather requirements and present to clients.
- Support remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the greater DC metro area.
- Support business development (such as RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses and white papers), internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance or higher.
- B.S. or B.A. in a quantitative, analytical, and computational discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data science or data engineering
- Proficiency in querying data using SQL and experience optimizing SQL query performance for large datasets.
- Experienced utilizing cloud-based databases including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Skilled in improving data processing workflows.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration, such as: Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSMS, SSAS, SSRS), Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Proficiency in transforming data using Python.
- Proficiency in developing dashboards using Tableau and Power BI.
- Ability to gather requirements and present to clients with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate successfully on remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the greater DC metro area.
- M.S. or M.A. in a quantitative, analytical, and computational discipline.
- 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience supporting Federal Defense & Security organizations.
