Job Description

Systems Lead Engineer

Pay rate: Negotiable

Position Type: Permanent

Location: Columbus, GA

Benefits: 401k max first 4% dollar/dollar and automatically vested in company day 1

Education: Bachelors Degree required

This is a critical role in the system engineering side which supports our Cisco UCS, VMware, and Storage from hardware and currency perspectives. Responsibilities include analyzing, developing, modifying, installing, testing, maintaining, and managing infrastructure components, systems servers, and associated services. You will be responsible for complex work and assignments typically required of a Systems Engineer, acting as a lead on team activities. This role is also key for troubleshooting and addressing any production issues and risk-related findings. You will play a significant part in capacity planning and growth within our Data Center for new server build components around upcoming LOB projects.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Work with users to gather business requirements, perform data analysis, code, and test middleware routines to ensure successful and seamless communication among various IT systems and application components.
  2. Evaluate vendor-supplied software packages and make recommendations to IT management. Make recommendations regarding optimization of software and hardware integration on the existing network infrastructure.
  3. Participate in component and data architecture design, software product evaluation, and buy versus build recommendations.
  4. Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for system software applications.
  5. Diagnose, isolate, and debug software problems and perform problem resolution.
  6. Monitor system capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide Tier 3 technical support.
  7. Work on multiple products, activities, and projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader, providing subject matter expertise and technical direction to more junior technical staff.
  8. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base and understanding of system programming, graphical user interface, and control languages.
  9. Provide technical direction and training to junior level team members.
  10. May lead the activities or work of the team. Provide leadership and direction to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. May provide input on interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems.
