Job Requirements / Description

The Project Engineer will understand and apply the operational parameters and process the respective compressor system, understand local engineering codes, practices and standards, as well as apply BCUS standards and QA requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design and function of the plant in accordance with specifications.
  • Ensure efficient project handling in conformity with customer requirements together with the production of documents contractually specified for delivery.
  • Preparation of technical specifications for accessories, technical evaluation of offers, technical contact and expediting of suppliers in collaboration with QS and Procurement in collaboration with QS and Procurement, when the project manager is not doing project engineering.
  • Consistent standardization and permanent optimizing of engineering hours and accessories costs.
  • Supporting the Sales Engineers during the offer phase in complex cases.
  • Technical direction of the plant designer.
  • Contracted-related support of SAP/PS- and DVS modules.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing and shipping and to provide link between project management, suppliers and packagers.
  • On request from the project manager complete equipment data sheets and other documentation requirements.
  • On request from direct supervisors to provide technical support and/or expertise to colleagues in Engineering, to Sales & CSS staff.
  • To maintain project documents and electronic files
  • Report to the direct supervisor and/or management any deficiencies, potential deficiencies or non-compliance in connection with any actual or potential project within or outside the respective area of responsibility.
  • To understand and obey all safety requirements according to the company's safety manual, and to report any non-compliance to the supervisor or the safety coordinator.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in the field of Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • 2+years related experience with rotating equipment, reciprocating compressors, and/or related processes
  • Knowledge of ANSI and ASME codes
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Technical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Team player, "can do" attitude, self-starter, and excellent people skills
LANGUAGE/MATH/REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficient personal computer skills including MS Office, SAP, CAD, electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Physical Requirements
  • Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Working Environment
  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
  • Moderate overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
  • Regular working hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00.
  • May require working outside of regular business hours.
