Senior System Engineer

Our client, a sustainable real estate development consulting firm located in the heart of Portland, Maine, is seeking to add a Senior Systems Engineer to their growing team. This Direct Hire role will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned project. Additionally, this role will provide technical support and assistance to resolve problems with the organization’s computer networks and systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides technical support, identifying, investigating, and resolving users problems with computer software and hardware for problems specific to the organization's computer networks and systems.
• Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
• Collaborates with other team members to research and resolve problems.
• Collaborates with systems and network administrators to explain errors and/or recommend modifications to systems and networks.
• Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
• Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
• Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent with Microsoft Office Teams & Microsoft Suite or related software.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Superior understanding of computer and networking hardware and software systems.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.
• Proactive research and resolution of issues.
• Must have the ability to handle confidential matters sensitively and appropriately.
• Service oriented with a strong ability to interact with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required.
• At least four years of related experience required.
