Description

Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the construction of production machinery and fixtures, ensuring safety measures are implemented.
  • Specify and recommend equipment for startup production operations.
  • Implement automation solutions using robotics or dedicated systems to enhance existing processes.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Gain expertise in metallurgy, dimensional controls, heat treating, and inspection methods.
  • Provide support to the Heat Treat Department with metallurgy knowledge, process expertise, and failure analysis.
  • Assist with injection plastic molding both in-house and with custom molders.
  • Utilize SPC techniques and strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve process issues.
  • Draft project designs as needed using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MasterCam.
  • Collaborate with Production Control, Quality Control, and Purchasing teams as necessary.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, ideally involving small metal products, metallurgy, heat treatment, grinding techniques, machine design, automation, or injection molding
  • Familiarity with electrical circuits, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC logic, and CNC controls is preferred
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mastercam
  • Hands-on knowledge of metal lathes, milling machines, and other metal or plastic fabrication machinery
  • ERP system experience is a plus
