Title: Project Engineer Employee Classification: PE Pay Grade: PE 10 Division: Business and Finance Department: Facilities Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary Provide the University with intermediate-level engineering services in the planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of buildings and facilities. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Perform field inspection and contract supervision to ensure the proper quality of work and conformance with job specifications. Assist in the coordination and administration of major University projects. Evaluate and consult with architects, engineers, and contractors performing work for the University. Maintain and verify the accuracy of contractors' payment requests. Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, proposals, and contract forms. Design and develop various University projects, including new construction, major maintenance repairs, remodeling, and other related work. Prepare reports, drawings, graphs, and presentation documents for various projects. Revise and update drawings and records and maintain files, cost records, and reports. Survey project sites and take accurate measurements. Perform related departmental duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of buildings and facilities, typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, is necessary. Three years of experience in an applicable field of engineering or architecture is necessary. Knowledge of drafting, surveying, design, project inspection, specification writing, and cost estimating is necessary. Special Instructions: Will work from the Physical Plant.
