As a Senior Instrument Designer at Burrow Global in Beaumont, Texas. The individual is critical in handling many design challenges typically addressed by an engineer. This position requires a high degree of drafting ability and experience in project organization, ensuring efficient and effective completion of objectives. While following the instructions of the project engineer, the Senior Instrument Designer demonstrates innovation in establishing the best methods to achieve project goals, providing value through technical expertise and creative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and produce design packages using AutoCAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Mechanically draft and produce drawings, including instrument location plans, P&ID revisions, instrument index, loop drawings, panel wiring diagrams, and more.
  • Perform field verification, inspections, and sketches to ensure designs align with field conditions.
  • Conduct thorough parts searches, utilizing engineering and vendor data for design solutions.
  • Collaborate with other designers and disciplines to ensure cross-functional project alignment.
  • Maintained and organized file structures and design packages, ensuring project deliverables were properly documented and filed.
  • Engage with clients directly to understand design needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Resolve design challenges and collaborate across disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
Education and Work Experience:
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. with additional specialized/technical training, some college coursework, and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience are required.
  • An associate degree is preferred, and 10+ years of experience in instrument design are strongly favored.
