Job Title: MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, process and/or work instructions, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set up procedures, control settings, machining methods, and sequences required. The Machinist will be responsible for ensuring that all parts attain accurate dimensions and quality standards are maintained.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills).Read and interpret blueprints, process/work instructions, sketches, and related technical data.Select, load, and test programs; modify programs and make necessary machine feed, speed, and axis point adjustments.Set up equipment, install tools and fixtures, make machine control settings, check for required specifications, and run jobs.Monitor machine operation and check parts throughout the run, making necessary adjustments.Respond to alarms, retrace programs to locate problems, and make corrections.Use precision measuring instruments and equipment to attain accurate dimensions and maintain tolerances.Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting unsafe activities to Management or Human Resources.Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals, building a positive team spirit.Maintain the highest level of honesty and integrity.Willing to work extended hours during peak seasons (Spring/Fall), including both day and night shifts.Essential Skills5+ years of Machining Experience.5+ years in a job shop environment.3+ years of CNC Experience.Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical data.Experience with precision measuring instruments and equipment.Working knowledge of most machine shop equipment and machine shop math.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with manual machining, including lathes and mills.Knowledge of setting up and operating manual Bridgeport mills.Familiarity with various machining tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gages.Experience with machining parts such as valves, pumps, gears, gearboxes, turbines, and shafts.Why Work Here?This is a long-term opportunity with significant growth potential. The work environment is very team-oriented, and all employees must be willing and able to collaborate on custom projects. During busy seasons (fall and spring), hours are from 6 AM to 6 PM or 6 PM to 6 AM. Regular hours during summer and winter are from 7 AM to 3 PM and 3 PM to 11 PM. Weekend night shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
