The Hauppauge NY facility manufactures and supplies engineered critical control components and sub-systems based on customer requirements to the aerospace and medical equipment markets.

POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The manufacturing engineering manager will lead and support the manufacturing engineering team. The scope of this role includes managing a team of manufacturing engineers to support new product introduction, root cause corrective action, process improvement, and identifying the necessary equipment and processes to produce quality products and support growth. They will analyze and interpret technical data such as engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc. This role will have 4-5 direct reports.

Principal Activities

  1. Provide leadership for the day-to-day direction of the manufacturing engineering team.
  2. Plan sequences of operations for fabrication and assembly of products based on customer order requirements.
  3. Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible with available machines.
  4. Specify, design, and/or procure special tooling or equipment required to meet customer requirements within budgeted cost and time.
  5. Facilitate robust, cost-efficient, safe manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with standard methods of work utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
  6. Manage departmental and capital budgets.
  7. Participate in the Company's Corrective Action and MRB Boards.
  8. Assure product and process quality by designing, proofing, and validating manufacturing methods, including assembly, process, inspection, and test; establish standard work procedures, process capability, and process control.
  9. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  10. Analyze and resolve fabrication and tooling issues to avoid problems.
  11. Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time, and cycle times.
  12. Establish partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
  13. Comply with all company policies/procedures and military and contractual requirements.
  14. Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

  10. Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 Standards, Statistics, and Root Cause Analysis.
  11. Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Solidworks, CATIA, and other applicable tools.

Education

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field, or an Associate's degree and 15 years minimum relevant work experience.
  2. At least three (3+) years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Other

  1. U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance.

PAY RANGE: $95K - $140K
