As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the physical structures, systems, and grounds of our facilities. This role requires hands-on expertise in various building systems, ensuring that our properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained. You will collaborate closely with other team members to meet safety standards and address any maintenance issues efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural repairs, including masonry, woodwork, drywall repair, painting, and minor roof repairs.
  • Inspect and maintain building systems, including HVAC units, elevators, water heaters, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and smoke detectors.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs (e.g., valve replacements, drain snaking, water heater adjustments).
  • Conduct basic electrical tasks (e.g., reset breakers, replace light fixtures, bulbs, smoke/carbon detectors).
  • Ensure the exterior upkeep of the property, including parking lot maintenance, minor snow removal, lawn care, and curb appeal.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal building and safety codes.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to support the facility’s functionality.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and lift equipment.
  • Familiarity with building systems such as roofs, piping, ventilation, heaters, and condensers.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including Federal and State Safety Regulations.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to drive company vehicles safely.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.


Work Environment:

  • While performing job duties, you may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including outdoor weather, mechanical equipment, and noise.
  • The role may occasionally require after-hours work or emergency responses.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The ability to see near and far is required.

Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to safely operate a vehicle. Employee may be expected to be at assigned job sites and will be provided and expected to wear PPE as assigned.
