Southwire Job Description

Job Summary

The Engineering Manager will provide daily leadership and long-term vision to the Engineering department for the Lafayette Plant. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring critical engineering processes and programs in the plant. Manages the day-to-day operations of the Engineering department including preventative and predictive programs, reducing cost associated with breakdowns, determining proper staffing, skill levels, and training, and leading the engineering team. This position requires a hands-on approach with team members and equipment repairs. Responsible for leading the engineering team in process improvement and implementation of manufacturing processes that support all functions of production and lean.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related Engineering experience desired.

Must have minimum associate degree and 10-15 years of related Engineering experience.

Must have a good working knowledge of computers and the use of current desktop software.

Must have a clear understanding of OPS principles and applications.

Lean Six Sigma experience recommended.

Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
