Systems Engineer (Local Candidates Only)

In this role of Systems Engineer, you will be an integral member of a results-driven, nimble IT team. You will have the opportunity to tackle challenging problems in programming, networking and technology, and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of systems and infrastructure.

Additionally, you will serve as the top escalation point for Service Desk support, user identities and accounts administration. This role is also responsible for developing deployment and support models for workstations and ensuring they work effectively and securely in the environment.

The successful candidate will embrace the challenge of solving critical business problems through technology, as well as possess a strong ability to absorb and evaluate information from a variety of sources and maintain a "big picture" view.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Tackle complex issues escalated from the Service Desk team, including those that impact multiple users or locations.
• Contribute to streamlining, optimizing and simplifying employee application experiences, improving application usability and interoperability, testing new application releases and researching new solutions to customer demands or recurring problem sets
• Research and develop methodologies and processes to ensure the health and stability of the production environment
• Proactively manage health monitoring & maintenance for backups, patching, & infrastructure support
• Develop and maintain a workstation deployment process model that is executable by the Service Desk, using MDT, SCCM, or MCEM
• Creates documentation for application installation packages, imaging processes, and system maintenance processes.
• Create scripts for automated repetitive processes.
• Validate backup scripts and data integrity
• Manage and maintain users and groups in Active Directory and O365/Exchange Online
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Active Directory domains in a multi-server domain/forest
• Configure, test, and deploy Group Policy
• Trains and mentor other technical analysts
• Assist with Service Desk tickets when required
• Serve as escalation point for on-call team if required

Minimum Qualifications

• Microsoft Sever 2003-2022 Operating Systems
• Experience with MDT or SCCM and Group Policy
• Experience troubleshooting application and OS level issues
• Solid understanding of operating systems and network architectures
• Experience in building, deploying and maintaining desktops and servers
• Basic Networking – Firewall rules, switch VLAN and ACL configuration, wireless and troubleshooting.
• Windows/Mac/Linux everyday tasks and endpoint administration.
• VMware and SANs support.
• Virtualized System Administration (knowledge in VMware and Hyper-V).
• Remote monitoring and management tools to troubleshoot and fix issues.
• Comfort resolving uncertainty and communicating for issue resolution
• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a desktop support or desktop engineering environment
• Passionate about solving challenges by leveraging technology solution
• Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts, both verbally and written
• Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision Commitment to strong customer service.
• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow through
