Senior Software Engineer

Armedia is in search of a Senior Software Engineer, this position is fully remote. The U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations (“Committee”) requires the support design, engineering, documentation, and quality assurance services for the Committee’s efforts to build a modern legislative system (“System”). This System will have workflow processes to solicit “Member Requests” for policy and spending interests from the public and U.S. Senators when writing legislation. Committee staff will serve as the Product Owner and will be involved in this effort to build the System. Additionally, the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) will provide an Enterprise Application Architect and a Technical Solutions Architect and Project Manager as part of the collaborative team (“Team”) who will assist with the design and evaluation of the System.

Required Qualifications:

1. US citizenship
2. At least 3 years of relevant experience in software development and integration efforts.
3. Proficiency in Django, Python, Vue.js, and Quasar.
4. Experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
5. Experience with technical areas including software design systems requirements analysis, data analysis and engineering, systems design, systems development, computer programming, and systems testing and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience providing documentation including program- and user-level documentation.
2. Experience providing technical database support including database design; data integration; data standardization; enterprise-wide data architecture specification; and database management.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
5. Experience with government or large-scale enterprise applications.
6. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and standards.
