Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Quality Engineer work in the Chicago, IL area working for a leading engineering and consulting firm. This position offers a variety of great benefits including competitive salary, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor' degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field required
  • Knowledge of inspection, control methods, techniques and documentation
  • Knowledge of statistical theory and principles, SPC and tools
  • Interpersonal skills suitable for interfacing with various levels of the organization
Responsibilities
  • Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting Quality Assurance, including ISO requirements & compliance, and supplier quality programs
  • This person will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing
  • Ensure clarity and consistency of the ISO requirements across all facilities
  • Conduct second party audits at all facilities to ensure ISO compliance
  • Support and lead Quality Assurance to meet the demands of customer driven quality improvements and the expanding needs of a growing company
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and lead the resolution and prevention of customer complaints
  • Support and provide leadership for the Supplier Quality program
  • Perform Quality systems audits of suppliers as needed
  • Ensure effective manufacturing process control programs that maintain focus on prevention of customer quality issues
  • Support plant cost reductions and process improvement projects through various Quality tools such as FMEA, process capability, Gage R&R, SPC, pareto analysis and other six sigma/lean tools
  • Write protocols and perform validations of new/improved materials and processes
  • Continuously improve Quality Assurance capabilities and effectiveness by setting and achieving specified goals/metrics
  • Travel up to 25% of the time may be required
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role
  • Facilitate supplier quality status and reporting
  • Initiate corrective actions to create value and mitigate risk in the supply chain
  • Drive meaningful improvements for customers (internal and external) via the Business System and its tools
  • Show demonstrable leadership of supply chain quality including supply selections, supplier validations, supplier development and supply quality monitoring
  • Lead teams to drive improvements to internal and external supplier quality via targeting breakthrough results
