CLASSIFICATION: J-PRIMES Senior Analyst/Engineer
GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-Time
LOCATION : Joint Preflight Integration of Munitions and Electronics Systems Facility (J-PRIMES), Eglin AFB, FL – On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide senior level expertise to resolve moderately to very challenging problems in the area of responsibility. Work independently in nearly all cases with rare need to consult with principal level expertise on problems of exceptional difficulty. Support development of man/machine software interfaces and program simulation and test equipment in the J-PRIMES Facility, including development of software interfaces to systems and subsystems undergoing test and evaluation in a shielded laboratory, on the hangar floor, or in the anechoic chamber.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Generate computer programs to drive test item environment simulation equipment.
- Develop software to communicate either directionally or bi-directionally with the system under test (SUT).
- Develop or modify existing software to collect/display/store/analyze data from the stimulation equipment and SUT.
- Document software and software modifications. Provide operator guidelines for system software IAW established Government procedures and operate software/programs during test execution.
Job Requirements:
OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned to support facility engineers and analysts in developing test capabilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Computer Science or Engineering Degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in Mission Software Development for installed systems RF test and evaluation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a TOP SECRET security clearance. Candidates may have a Secret clearance that has been adjudicated within the last 5 years. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company quality, safety, environmental, security and administrative policies; supports process improvements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is normally performed in an environmentally controlled office/laboratory environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of performing required tasks while using wide variations of physical effort such as sitting, running, walking, standing, crawling, climbing or remaining in awkward, sometimes strained, positions for extended periods of time; may be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
