WHAT YOU'LL DO
You have expertise in the operation of precision CNC machining and/or gear-cutting equipment with technical problem-solving skills that are focused on proven systems and technologies to minimize risk to the organization and utilize existing resources.

  • Write programs for CNC lathes and mills
  • Assist in planning, developing, modifying, and implementing robotic and CNC part programming (Fanuc/Siemens) for new or revised parts and robotic programs
  • Assist senior manufacturing engineer with responsibilities for computer hardware and software systems used in programming
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously as required
  • Interpret written instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading
  • Perform a variety of turning operations with aluminum, cast iron, and steel materials to specified tolerances
  • Use a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Ensure that parts produced comply with company quality standards by monitoring the production process, following inspection procedures, measuring dimensions, and identifying variances
  • Perform machine setups and tool changes
  • Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds of machining
  • Partially dismantle machines and perform minor maintenance work
  • Lift and move heavy objects
  • Inspect finished parts
  • Responsible for completing work orders and reporting labor hours worked
  • Recommend process changes to optimize production and improve quality
  • Communicate production status to supervisor and to shift personnel as required to ensure any problems and/or schedules are understood
  • Contribute to cost reductions and productivity improvements
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
  • Machining certification from an accredited vocational institute with three (3) years CNC machining experience or four (4) years of precision machining experience desired
  • Programming experience preferred
  • Capable of creating change across functional and departmental boundaries
  • Must be flexible to perform a variety of assignments and adapt to changing conditions
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Able to make recommendations and effectively participate in the implementation of company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of manufacturing functions, including methods, processing, tooling, work standards, plant layout, and cost controls and reductions
  • Knowledge and skills to develop and implement CNC part programming to effectively support machining and robotic operations and assembly processes
  • Effectively able to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to interpret written instructions and specifications
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Good mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
  • Experience in performing setups and tool changes
  • Experience in finished parts inspection using various precision measurement tools
  • Must be able to provide own basic inspection and hand tools
  • Ability to work well with others
  • May be asked to travel periodically
