Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tooling strategies to support production goals
  • Manage new tool construction projects
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams for efficient tooling design
  • Oversee the tooling repair department
  • Monitor tooling performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Design and develop new tooling, fixtures, and gages
  • Create and maintain documentation for all tooling and processes
  • Analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure tooling quality and reliability
  • Research technologies for enhanced mold repair and maintenance
  • Ensure moldability of new and existing product designs
  • Seek continuous improvements in products, molds, materials, and manufacturing
Qualifications
  • A bachelors degree in engineering or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in the injection molding industry with a focus on tool design
  • 10+ years in a supervisory and management capacity
  • Direct hands-on experience in mold design and construction
  • Experience collaborating with teams of engineers and technicians
  • Good working knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes
