About the Role


Job Title: Network Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, operate, and maintain network devices in the Virginia Data Center.
  • Support network migration from Denver to Richardson Data Center.
  • Configure routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), route maps, route leaking, and redistribution.
  • Configure VLAN extensions, network ports, and other related network services.
  • Develop complete end-to-end plans for enterprise-wide LAN/WAN networks, including design and upgrades.
  • Coordinate with other IT departments and manage change requests as per change management protocols.
  • Perform fault isolation and resolution in a structured, methodical manner.
  • Create and maintain network design documentation, including Concepts of Operation, Requirements, and critical design documents.
  • Support life-cycle management evaluations and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco switches, particularly Catalyst 9000 Series, Nexus switches, and technologies like Stackwise, STP, RSTP, and VPC.
  • Utilize network management tools like SolarWinds, NetBrain, and Wireshark for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support for change control procedures as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to delegate tasks and work in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience in enterprise-wide network design and modifications.
  • Proficient in routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), WAN technologies (MPLS, DMVPN, VRF), and network management applications (SNMP, Netflow).
  • Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series, Nexus, and network protocols such as STP, PVST, and VPC.
  • Proficient in using network management tools like SolarWinds, NetBrain, and Wireshark.
  • Certifications: Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP are highly desirable.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN and network security (firewalls, segmentation).
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., CCIE).


Location: Dallas, TX


Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $105,000 – $115,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
