Senior Structural Engineer

Clayton Services is searching for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a thriving company in Humble, Texas. The Senior Structural Engineer will oversee the design, analysis, and detailing of platform structures, foundations, and associated connections while also managing cost estimations, client communication, and collaboration with various project teams.

Job Type: Direct-Hire

Pay Rate: $150,000 - $170,000/annually

Senior Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

• Conduct preliminary design and provide accurate cost estimates for project quotations.
• Engineer platform structures along with their corresponding connections.
• Design robust foundations for platform columns, including slabs, piers, piles, and footings as required.
• Generate client approval, engineering, shipping, lashing, and installation drawings.
• Preparation of client approval drawings, engineering drawings, shipping and lashing drawings, and installation drawings
• Review and give final approval for Engineer drawing sets (where the candidate is licensed).
• Facilitate clear and effective communication with clients and shop personnel.
• Liaise with the sales team, detailers, fabrication shop workers, and installation team, offering general support and communication.
• Interact skillfully with clients, their contractors, and project trades for seamless collaboration.

Senior Structural Engineer Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to perform structural analysis using RISA 3D (FEA) and MathCad or similar software.
• Ability to model and detail in Autodesk Advance Steel
• Ability to manage materials utilizing Advance Workshop or comparable software.

Senior Structural Engineer Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 8+ years’ experience as a civil or structural engineer.
• Bolted and welded connection design.
• Structural steel design and analysis.
• Concrete foundation design.
• Proficiency in building codes, including expertise in seismic code requirements.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• Previous experience working with foundations is a required
