This individual must possess experience with software testing in all phases of the software development lifecycle. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of industry accepted software quality assurance standards and methodologies. This position will be responsible for leading and directing software testing activities for medium to large projects, and must demonstrate increased technical competence and personal productivity including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Essential FunctionsAbility to lead the testing activities for projects and provide status on those activitiesTesting of software running on safety critical medical devices and associated applicationsDesigns and reviews test plans and test casesExecute and maintain test plans and test cases to verify the design meets the specified requirementsIdentify and communicate risk throughout the software development lifecycle and works cross-functionally to mitigate riskIdentify and point out ambiguities in requirementsGenerate detailed defect reports for failed testsAssist Development teams with the troubleshooting of defectsFacilitates cross-functional defect, test plan and test case reviewsProvide estimates on the test effort for work itemsParticipate in program, design and document reviewsMentor and train new and less experienced staff membersResearches and develops a solid understanding of the proposed requirements and engineering specifications for the product features being implementedAdheres to department software release schedulesComplies with regulatory guidelines and maintain associated documentationEnsures and documents traceability from requirements to testsMonitor test automation results for assigned applicationDevelopment and maintenan e of automated test scriptsWorks closely with automation test engineers to define automated test processes and tools to support device verification/validation testingRecommend new solutions, processes and tools to improve testing capabilities and efficiencyMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; stay current on SQA best practices; participating in professional societiesRequired/Preferred Education and ExperienceBS or MS degree required orEquivalent industry experience in a related Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline required10+ years of relevant experience required andProven track record performing the above Duties and Responsibilities required andExperience writing SQL queries required andExperience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python or PowerShell required andExperience working with Linux OS file system required andExperience testing web services using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger required andExperience testing medical devices and familiar relevant software quality regulations and standards requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesLanguage Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents of advanced technical complexity. Ability to write reports and research findings of a technical nature. Ability to speak and present effectively one-on-one as well as in small and large groups of professionals including customers, clients and collaborators, both inside and outside the organization.Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills required, including the understanding and ability to apply basic statistical and arithmetic principles, work with tabular data, and create and interpret graphs.Reasoning Ability: Advanced reasoning skills required. Must have the ability to solve complex problems and weigh possible solutions to determine rank options to deliver optimal outcomes. Ability to assess problems involving several variables in changing situations.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.Working ConditionsThis position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet.
