We are on the hunt for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team.

Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer position is onsite in our Mason, OH office as part of the engineering team that supports FRISS Enterprise Investigations (FEI). FEI is our case management product used by Special Investigation Units (SIU) within insurers and private investigation firms. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for delivering product feature enhancements, technical roadmap initiatives, client requests, and resolving support items.

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain complex Java-based applications.
2. Architect and implement scalable and robust solutions.
3. Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
4. Collaborate within Engineering department to share knowledge and champion best practices.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various environments.
6. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
7. Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development standards.

Requirements

1. This position is only open to candidates that are legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. FRISS is not able to sponsor visas.
2. 5+ years of experience in Java development.
3. Strong knowledge of Java EE and related frameworks; Spring, Hibernate, Struts, etc.
4. Experience with related technologies: Tomcat, Linux, PostgreSQL.
5. Experience with Maven for build automation and dependency management.
6. Experience with cloud computing in AWS.
7. Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
8. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Other programming languages such as Groovy and Python.
2. Additional cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
3. Experience with Terraform.
4. Front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
5. Front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue, React, Ember).
6. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
7. Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
