Position: Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Location: Arlington Heights, IL 60004 - onsite

This is a permanent, fulltime position.


I am looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to be responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves coordinating quality control activities, managing product inspections, addressing customer concerns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards like ISO and FDA regulations.


OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES


Quality Assurance & Control:

  • Conduct inspections and verify product quality by utilizing accurate and repeatable measurement tools.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Manage and report on non-conformance issues and corrective actions.
  • Oversee First Article Inspection (FAI) and ensure compliance with AS9102 and other industry standards.


Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents, and Certificates of Compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure adherence to quality management systems.


Customer & Supplier Relations:

  • Communicate with customers to resolve quality concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Coordinate Return Material Authorizations (RMA) and customer complaint investigations.
  • Work with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues.


Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection methods, reduce quality costs, and enhance overall product quality.
  • Utilize quality tools such as Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), FMEA, and statistical process control (SPC) to improve processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with company goals.


Team Support:

  • Provide guidance and training to quality technicians and shop personnel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained across all departments.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, APQP, PPAP, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience using quality tools like FMEA, SPC, and GR&R.
  • Experience in ISO 13485, ISO 140001, or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
