SMSI is currently in search of a PLC programmer. This individual will have the crucial responsibility of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems and automation equipment. Collaborating closely with engineers and fellow technicians will ensure the seamless functioning of automated machinery and systems. Apply today to become an integral part of our team. Responsibilities: • Set up and configure control systems, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other automation devices • Develop and troubleshoot PLCs for the purpose of overseeing and regulating machinery and processes • Regularly inspect and perform preventive maintenance on control systems and automation equipment to guarantee peak performance • Discover and address technical issues and malfunctions in control systems and automation equipment • Work together with engineers and other team members to develop and execute control system enhancements and adjustments. • Record all maintenance and repair tasks, as well as any adjustments made to equipment and updates to software • Educate train operators and maintenance staff on the correct utilization and upkeep of control systems and automation machinery Qualifications: • A high school diploma or its equivalent is required; however, having an associate degree in electrical or automation technology is highly preferred • Demonstrated expertise in the installation, upkeep, and resolution of issues with control systems and automation machinery • Proficient in PLC programming and skilled in HMI configuration • Proficiency in electrical and electronic components, circuits, and systems • Proficiency in understanding and analyzing technical drawings, schematics, and manuals • Exceptional abilities in problem-solving and resolving issues • Exceptional focus on details and capacity to operate autonomously Compensation: $35 hourly
