Systems Engineer - Expert
HERNDON
Position requires ACTIVE TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Mandatory Skills:
1. Strong background in Microsoft Systems Engineering and providing support to those systems.
2. Strong knowledge of virtualization products with a focus on Hyper-V.
3. Proficiency in scripting languages with a focus on PowerShell.
4. Experience with McAfee product suite.
5. Demonstrated capacity to understand and communicate technical ideas, concepts, and thoughts across multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated ability to independently determine and develop approach to solutions.Must have knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching, and network architecture planning.
7. Must have knowledge of remote administration and secure Virtual Private Networking.
8. Must understand commercial encryption standards and their application in IP networking.
9. Must have knowledge of VPN technologies, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IP Multicasting
10. Must have knowledge of voice and video solutions to include Cisco, Polycom, and Avaya configuration management and endpoint management including SIP and H.323 protocols.
11. 7-10 years of relevant experience designing communications systems.
12. Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
13. Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills
14. Ability to work independently as well as within small and large groups
15. Capable of preparing and presenting briefings
16. Experience with Microsoft Office product line, including Microsoft Access; experience with Lotus Notes
Optional Skills:
1. Knowledge of Cisco and PolyCom VTC technology
2. An understanding of Private Branch Exchange telephony
3. An ability to navigate and configure Linux operating systems
4. An understanding of wired data transport mediums to include Category 5e/6 and fiber optics.
5. Prior deployment to foreign field areas in support of customer mission
6. Prior experience communicating official traffic in the customer Electronic Messaging System (EMS)
7. Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, MCSE
8. Familiar with military communications
9. Familiar with satellite and wireless communications.
