Highway Design Civil Engineer

Job Title: Transportation Department Manager
Location: Princeton, NJ
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $180,000- $250,000
Overview:
We are seeking a growth-oriented engineer to serve as our Highway (Civil) Department Manager. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the growth of the department, focusing on project execution and supporting Project Managers on a variety of transportation projects. This individual will collaborate closely with clients and project teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless delivery and high client satisfaction.
Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in Highway Design REQUIRED
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's may substitute for 2 years of experience)
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in New Jersey (New York State license is beneficial)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities:

• Exhibit strong engineering judgment while striving for quality and financial excellence
• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of NJDOT and NJTA processes and procedures
• Mentor and train design staff to foster professional development
• Collaborate with regional and office leadership to advise on project approach, scope, cost, and schedule
• Identify opportunities for innovative solutions and strategic partnerships
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to assess needs and address design/permitting issues
