Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Project Engineer to join our fire business unit.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow a test procedure and record test results
- Troubleshoot equipment that fails test. Work with R&D personnel to rectify failures
- Use of various electronic test tools such as meters, oscilloscopes, signal/frequency generators and spectrum analyzers
- Use Firecom tools to test and program antennas as needed for field installation
- Follow Bills of Materials and mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics
- Help field team with site surveys, installation and field testing before and after installation
- Respond to emails from customers and electrical/general contractors
- Answer incoming customer calls and calls from phones forwarded to me - Follow up on all customer enquiries and research their concerns
- Email all submittal packages
- Follow up returned submittals - Ensure all devices are released and technicians have been scheduled
- Schedule deliveries with our driver, with technicians and with our warehouse
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- FCC license
- BDA manufacture(s) certification(s)
- 1 -3+ years related experience and/or training in customer service, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Advanced customer service skills
- Computer skills - MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook. Ability to operate personal computer programs to install software, edit configuration files, and copy and save data from computers
- Ability to lift equipment to install within assemblies
- Ability to travel locally
- Must work well within a small team environment
- Must have a great communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of industry is a plus
- Experience with radio communication equipment is helpful - land-mobile radios, base stations and antenna systems is a plus
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 a year depending on experience
