Senior Java / Scala -Architect

Title: Senior Architect (Java / Scala) @ Atlanta, GA
Terms of Hire: Full Time.
Salary: $120K-175K + Benefits.

Job Description
CLIENT Hospitality Engineering is searching for a highly innovative, enthusiastic and results-driven Senior Architect who has built microservices and application systems at scale using GCP, AWS, or Azure. The candidate should be from a development background and should have experience writing applications using languages such as Java, Scala, and GoLang in Docker containers integrated with third party components. A strong background in network security, including familiarity with TLS and PKI, is a must. The candidate should be comfortable working with full stack engineers, product managers and product delivery teams.
Responsibilities:

1. Lead requirement gathering meetings and review designs with the product owner
2. Maintain active relationships with Product Owner to understand business requirements
3. Design and develop architectures with a focus on network security and privacy
4. Prototype, develop, and troubleshoot software in cloud-native services
5. Participate in collaborative technical discussions that focus on software user experience, design, architecture, and development
6. Perform demonstrations for client stakeholders on project features and sub features
7. Perform technical design reviews and peer reviews on source code to ensure reuse, scalability and the use of best practices
8. Keep up to date with technology and apply new knowledge

Ideal Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or proven work experience in related field
2. Master's degree in a related field preferred
3. 10 years of experience designing and developing software in an enterprise environment
4. Proficiency with server-side languages such as Java
5. Experience with Scala, or other Functional Programming
6. Strong knowledge in creating and working with APIs
7. Familiar with interfaces such as REST web services, OpenAPI, JSON payloads
8. Experience with Cloud services, including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
9. Strong background in Network Security, including TLS, PKI
10. Proven written and oral communication skills
11. Experience developing using Git, GitHub, BitBucket, or other Git-based RCS
12. Strong complex problem solving and troubleshooting skills
13. Ability to learn quickly and manage time effectively
14. Experience with all or a majority of the following:
    1. Docker and Kubernetes
    2. Cassandra, BigTable
    3. GoLang, C#
    4. Kafka, Google PubSub, or Kinesis
    5. ElasticSearch
    6. Samza, Kafka Streams, or Stream Processing
    7. Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
    8. Terraform
    9. PostgreSQL, MySQL or MSSQL

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

1. Strong background in Network Security, including TLS, PKI
2. 10 years of experience designing and developing software in an enterprise environment
3. Proficiency with server-side languages such as Java
4. Experience with Scala, or other Functional Programming
5. Strong knowledge in creating and working with APIs

Nice-to-Have Skills:

1. Master's degree in a related field preferred
