The Role:

Our site in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. Our site manufactures Micro contamination Control (MC) membrane products such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UPE) membrane and other membrane products for Semi-conductor and Life Science industries. As part of the Manufacturing Operations team, you will be a leading contributor in our efforts to start up a new membrane operations plant. As part of this effort, you will drive the qualification of membrane processes/products for high volume production. After qualification, this individual would be the primary Quality Engineer to monitor production performance, leading yield improvements and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), supporting factory compliance to site policies and procedures, validating proper change control and implementation. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize quality & process knowledge and strong analytical and communications skills to ensure the site meets its quality and business objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Create Quality documentation around product and processes including benchmarking against the existing facilities and prepare for transfer and startup in the new Colorado Spring Manufacturing facility. This will include developing Validation & Qualification (V&Q) requirements to ensure customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities are aligned. Successful V&Q execution of transfer and startup will require the use of collaborative approach & influencing skills to interface with cross functional team across the organization.

  • Individuals will be required to spend a few weeks at Bedford, MA site as a part of the onboarding process to gain process knowledge to be successful in this role for the new Colorado Springs Manufacturing facility.

  • Implement SPC in new manufacturing site.

  • Act as the site (MC) focal point on quality related issues and involve appropriate site functions to address concerns.

  • Provide leadership to the Change Control Management Board (CCMB) - establish continuity and ownership to ensure changes are made methodically in support of our quality requirements, with subject matter experts' input.

  • Lead MRB (Material Review Board) meetings and handle lot disposition in the new site.

  • Lead QN (Quality Notifications) investigations for both internal and external customers using 8D approach.

  • Work both independently and in a team. Lead with influence across multi-disciplinary team to achieve quality initiatives and finding solutions to complex problems, enhancing our fully data-driven and risk-based thinking culture.

  • Be an active member of all external and internal audits.

  • Work with external customers in responding to quality issues.

  • Ensure compliance with our quality management systems.

  • Support the material quality team in overseeing the quality performance of our suppliers, implementing appropriate action plans when needed.

  • Regularly collect, analyze and interpret manufacturing data, using statistical analysis methods to drive quality improvements.

  • The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for partnering with operation and other cross functional teams to review and interpret requirements to develop procedures and processes to meet the quality and business objectives.

  • Provides input on quality topics to product development teams; recommend design to manufacturability improvements by facilitating process reviews, Gage qualification activity, addressing technical data packages, manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling and training.

  • Be proactive about collaborating with the teams and peers, offering input, and learning from their experiences. I consistently strive for improvement.

  • Can take on assignments with broad objectives where guidance is provided on critical issues only.

  • Establishes goals, objectives, and metrics required to complete projects. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement & new product development).

  • Promptly escalate manufacturing non conformances and conduct 8D root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

  • Responsible for guiding technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure division quality objectives are achieved.

  • Ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities to accomplish Division goals

  • Require providing work guidance and mentorship to junior Quality Engineers

  • Be a hands-on Engineer to go out on the production floor and learn the process

  • Drive KPI such as First Pass Yield (FPY) improvements, Customer Complaints per thousand parts (CCPK) and Defective parts per Million (DPPM) reduction by working with the cross functional team

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline

  • Minimum of 6 - 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a significant amount of that time successfully leading quality and / or continuous improvement related initiatives.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001 or similar, Statistical Process Control, Audit, Change Control, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Qualification & Validation processes, Six Sigma methodologies and effective customer interaction.

  • A collaborative leader that inspires cross-functional teams, prioritizing and driving for execution

  • Experience in lean manufacturing and/or six sigma certifications

  • Profound experience in statistical data analysis, capable of utilizing data for informed engineering and quality-related decision-making.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:

  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer would be a plus

  • Knowledge of ERP tools particularly SAP experience would be a plus

  • Experience in filtration production processes would be a plus esp. membrane manufacturing

  • Proven expertise in qualifying new facilities, equipment, processes, or products

  • Extensive background in material testing and metrology

  • Experience with Automated Inspection method would be a plus

  • Data analysis with MINITAB would be a plus

  • Semi-conductor industry quality/process experience would be a plus.

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) would be a plus

  • Salary in the $122,000K-145,000K/year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
