Reports to: T-Line Design Manager
Job Description:
Electrical substation and T-Line designer using PLS Pole, PLSCAD, AutoCAD, and Plant 3D. Prepared 3D equipment general arrangements, SLDs, P&C, substations layouts, plans and elevations. Prepares transmission, feeders, substations outline drawings, 3D substation modeling, and protection and control models. When required lead a team of multidisciplined designers to achieve complete design packages based on the engineering team's input.
Responsibilities:
  • Have a background working in electrical, or civil.
  • Work on and develop models, designs, and drawings in 2D and 3D environments.
  • Have or develop familiarity and understanding of sound design / drafting methods and standards.
  • Capable of developing designs and drawings based on common input information.
  • Coordinate project design activities with designers from other disciplines.
  • Work well independently but recognize when to seek assistance to effectively drive progress.
  • Participate in site visits and evaluations within plants to gather information, assess site conditions, verify designs, and provide other on-site assistance during start-up or construction.

Qualifications:
  • Candidates will be considered with varying experience levels. minimum of 1 - 5 years' experience as a CAD drafter/designer required.
  • Experience in preparing construction drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
  • bility to create models and drawings using Autodesk Plant Design Suite (including AutoCAD, Plant 3D).
  • working knowledge of National Standards and Codes is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • dherence to detail, with a desire to create accurate, organized, and well laid out drawings.
  • bility to coordinate workload, as well as working in a team environment.
  • bility and willingness to travel to client locations and perform work on construction sites and in operating industrial facilities.

Education:
ssociate degree in CAD Drafting and Design Technology or equivalent work experience.
