CNC Machinist job summary
Celebrating over 75 years in operation, our award-winning commercial construction client is looking to hire a CNC Machinist with an eagerness to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience working with CNC machines, pay strong attention to detail, and be committed to workplace safety. Under minimal supervision, this person will set up and operate CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to cut, bend, and drill steel used for fabrication projects.
CNC Machinist responsibilities
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in compliance with the established JSA.
  • Ability to competently operate most of the equipment in an operational area, performing with accuracy, consistency, and with minimal supervision and rework.
  • Ability to lead and direct groups of employees to successful task completion.
  • Perform effectively as a trainer and mentor to junior employees.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Utilize applicable tools and equipment relevant to operating the machine.
  • Practice and promote Safety and Housekeeping.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
CNC Machinist skills and qualities
  • Follow written and verbal directions.
  • Program CNC equipment
  • Operate CNC equipment
  • Working knowledge of basic lifting and rigging techniques.
  • Ability to identify needed material
  • Read shop drawings/blueprints
  • Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
  • Effectively operate common layout tools.
  • Work with others.
  • Work safely and accurately.
  • Accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
  • Make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Dependable and trustworthy.
CNC Machinist education and work requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.
