Job Description

Authorium is seeking a highly skilled Lead QA Engineer to drive quality assurance efforts for both legacy and new Ruby on Rails web applications. This role is crucial for maintaining the stability and reliability of our existing platform while transitioning our new platform to an automation-driven QA process supporting continuous integration and deployment. You will be responsible for implementing and managing the associated processes in a framework enabling our QA team to rely on automated end-to-end testing as a primary testing surface. You will mentor and lead the QA team in building this automated testing suite while leveraging targeted manual testing as part of our release process.

Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our platform, ensuring the highest quality standards that are paramount for government customers, ultimately helping agencies streamline their operations and improve public services.

  • Lead the transformation of our QA processes from manual to automated testing, ensuring smooth continuous integration and deployment
  • Develop internal libraries enabling efficient end-to-end automated testing implementation
  • Design and implement automated testing scripts for new features and existing functionalities
  • Oversee and mentor the QA team, guiding the creation and maintenance of automated test suites
  • Develop strategy for conducting targeted manual testing as part of our comprehensive release process to guarantee the highest quality of our software
  • Collaborate closely with product, development and customer success teams to identify and address quality issues early in the development cycle
  • Success in this role will be measured by the reduction in bug reports, increased test coverage, and successful deployment of automated testing processes
  • Opportunities for advancement to senior leadership roles within the QA department

Requirements

What makes you qualified for this role

  • Extensive experience in both QA implementation and leadership
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing automated testing of web applications
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes
  • Proficiency in managing coverage via automated testing and target manual testing strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with testing frameworks and libraries for Ruby on Rails applications
  • Familiarity with modern testing tools and technologies such as Cucumber, Playwright, Rspec
  • Experience with legacy system QA and incremental migration projects
  • Knowledge of performance and security testing
  • Demonstrated capability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field

This position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000-$130,000 per year, flexible PTO, and participation in a 401K Profit Share plan.
