Job Requirements / Description

Must Haves:

-3-5 years of Engineering experience, for onshore upstream oil & gas resources

-Bachelor's degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical)

-Project management skills and have the ability to prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines

-Team oriented, have interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly to multidisciplinary teams

-Detail oriented

-Have great presentation skills

Plusses:

-Experience designing facilities (CTB, Pipelines, Compressors)

-Siting & routing studies (for facilities infrastructure such as pipelines, electric lines, etc) experience

-High proficiency in analytics tools (Power Bi, Power Query, Excel, Spotfire)

Preferable knowledge in SQL and Python programing

-User of GIS and GIS products such as ArcMap, ArcPro, Portal, etc

-Basic understanding of PLSS and Texas land grids

-Understand survey plats and technical drawings

-Technical coding experience

Day to Day:

An employer in Houston is seeking a Facilities Surface Planning Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to bring a facilities plan to life. This includes optimizing the routing and facilities placement in accordance to the overall facilities development plan, presenting the proposed surface plan to stakeholders, submitting and tracking survey requests, evaluating plats and keeping the company's planned and staked records up to date. The Facilities Surface Planning Engineer will be tasked with working on multiple projects at once across the Permian Basin based on business needs and activity established by the Drilling Rig Schedule. The Engineer will be responsible for keeping projects moving forward by resolving obstacles and facilitating the readiness of Oil and Gas infrastructure for all new drills in his or her area of responsibility.
