Position
Title : Principal Software Engineer
Location Preference : Greater Boston MA; Bethesda MD
The Alluvio Aternity platform delivers unified visibility across the modern application ecosystem, is easy to deploy and manage, and results in faster troubleshooting for even the toughest performance problems. Alluvio Aternity captures, stores, and indexes across billions of transactions a day without sacrificing data completeness, granularity, or depth.
What You Will Do
- Help the Alluvio Application Performance Management (APM) team to build a Cloud Native SaaS application on Microsoft Azure.
- You will help design and architect services that meet high standards for security, availability, scalability, and maintainability.
- You and your team will build crucial backend services to help Alluvio APM store, analyze, and correlate large volumes of data from millions of endpoints.
- BS/MS degree in a technical field, or equivalent military or career experience
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong domain knowledge of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e., IaaS, PaaS, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, Containers and IaC technologies)
- Strong development skills (i.e., 7-10 years experience) working in multiple languages, especially C#, C++, Python, and Go
- Experience working with big data analytics databases (e.g., Azure Data Explorer, Cassandra, ClickHouse, or similar)
- Experience with Azure cloud services and durable functions, or AWS equivalent
- Familiarity with Kafka
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of high performance under minimal supervision
- Experience working in a Scrum or Agile environment
- Innovative problem solving, design and testing skills
