Software Engineer II

TapHere is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer II to join our team in Charleston, SC supporting Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC-A).

Experience Required:

1. Three (3) years of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
2. Candidate shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.

Specific Experience:

1. One (1) year of technical experience in support of systems engineering or systems administration within an enterprise hosting environment in the cloud in support of multiple interconnected systems and enterprise managed services.
2. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.

Required Certification(s):

1. At least one (1) of the following: CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
2. At least one (1) of the following: IEEE CS Software Development Associate Engineer Certification or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification such as: Microsoft role-based certifications, Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP) role-based certifications, CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization, Citrix Certified Administrator, Cloud certifications such as AWS Architect, Developer, and SysOps Associate, or other certifications relevant to the role and as approved by the COR.

Plus:

Candidate shall be certified as Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II.

Skills Required:

Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems); and shall possess Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
