About the Role:
Are you a versatile engineer who can work across the full stack, collaborate with product and design teams, lead refactors, and share knowledge to help your team grow? If so, we have the perfect job for you. As part of our Customer Acquisition team, you will focus on building our borrower refi application UX and API for partner integrations, using React/TypeScript/Node.js and our Ruby on Rails monolith. Our approach prioritizes continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other Staff Engineers and leadership to improve code, ensuring flexibility and agility to meet changing business requirements.
- Assist in work breakdown and agile trade-offs in our scrum process, delivering high-quality software efficiently and effectively.
- Participate in planning and business development discussions with leadership.
- Work with Product Owners to understand the market and business context, contributing to collaborative product design and evolution.
- Mentor and coach other engineers in FrontEnd development.
- Play a key role in defining and evolving Engineering processes at Caribou.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience leading engineers in maintaining and improving consumer applications and partner integration APIs.
- Customer-focused with a passion for well-crafted software.
- Driven, lifelong learners committed to expanding their skills in leadership and engineering.
- Full-stack understanding of production software systems, including hosts, HTML, containers, caches, databases, DNS, runtimes, and REST.
- A commitment to bringing out the best in those around you.
- Seasoned engineer with experience deploying and operating products in production and resolving incidents.
Compensation and Benefits:
