**NO FEE AGENCYJob Description** The CNC Setup Machinist / Programmer is responsible for efficiently programming, setting up, and proving out programs on multi-axis Haas Mills and Haas Lathes (with live tooling and bar-feeder) to support our daily production and prototyping demands. You should be able to edit programs at the machine as well as through CAM software. We use CAMWorks, but other CAM software skills are valued and we will train. You should be comfortable in a sometimes fast-paced prototype environment as well as long series production. We are a close-knit team of engineers and machinists, and we are looking for a senior team member who is both a mentor and a learner. You should be willing and able to share your skills and knowledge, and you should also be open to learning from others. We value a great communicator with a positive attitude to work and life in general.ResponsibilitiesProgram, set up, and machine various components using a CNC machineIdentify machine malfunctions and take corrective actionEnsure machines run safely and efficientlyMeasure parts with precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure they meet dimensional requirementsFollow rigorous quality standards and documented proceduresUse a pallet jack and/or personal strength to lift workpiecesMaintain, clean, and repair machines as neededAssist coworkers in completing daily tasks and meeting deadlinesCommunicate timely updates to supervisor and coworkers to ensure the highest quality and on-time deliveryWork closely with coworkers and supervisor to ensure safety and quality procedures are maintained and followedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities, but may grow into supervisory duties in the future.QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED or higher education, with at least five (5) years of CNC machining, setup, and programming experienceComputer SavvyAbility to operate CNC efficiently and accurately with minimal supervisionMachinists must have a proven ability to machine a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, using different machine tools and techniquesWillingness to take direction and work independentlyDesire to learn other skills throughout the organizationSome prior experience machining in a production environmentKnowledge of manual machining (not CNC) a plusAbility to read and interpret documents such as product prints, operating and maintenance instructions, safety and quality manualsAbility to use precision measuring instrumentsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively to coworkers and supervisorsMathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and the ability to compute percentagesMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checkWorking knowledge of the following systems a plus:SolidWorks 3D CAD SolidWorks CAM / CAMWorks ERP system (we use ProShop) Editing G and M Codes GDandT Experience working in an ISO9000/AS9100 certified shopCompetenciesProblem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
