Embedded Firmware Engineer ( contract) - RTP, NC
Our NC based client is seeking a n Embedded Firmware Engineer (contract) for a hybrid opportunity in their RTP, NC office. Our client is the global leader in solid state cooling, a groundbreaking approach using the power of phonons to revolutionize how the world sustainably cools. The world's most important technologies across supply chain, AI compute, 5G, LIDAR, cold chain fulfillment, and more are cooled by our client's technology.
This is a 60 - 90 day contract (w2 ) position which offers a competitive hourly rate . No visa situations , C2C or relocation assistance for this opportunity .

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer for a short term contract opportunity . In this role , you will use your skills and experience to design unique electronics solutions for thermoelectric cooling systems.
W HAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Architecture and firmware development for thermoelectric controllers
- Prototype hardware bring-up
- Development and troubleshooting of firmware for IoT networking hardware
- Design and development of firmware for user interfaces
- Firmware support for manufacturing testing tools and processes
- Hands-on troubleshooting of firmware and system-level control problems
- Candidate must be able to work onsite in the electronics lab in Durham, NC.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with at least 5 years of professional experience in embedded firmware application design and development.
- Experience with Atmel, ST Micro, and TI toolchains.
- Experience with GIT and CVS source control.
- Prior experience in successfully completing quick-turn development projects
- Proficient in C/C++ and Visual C++
- Proficient in embedded hardware development and PCB design
- Hands-on and self-motivated
- Able to apply high degree of creativity to a project
- Able to work independently or in a team environment
- Support customer interactions to demonstrate system performance
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Additional Desired Skills and Experience With:
- Network infrastructure and security
- IoT deployment at scale
- Python, Linux, Ansible
- Docker, Azure pipelines
