Required Skills & Experience:

-7+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer

-Experience with power generation equipment such as generators, AC/DC control systems, relay protection and power distribution systems including high and low voltage distribution

-Electrical testing experience for relay and transformer testing

-Project management experience

-Experience working with the designers and approving/outlining designs

-Troubleshooting generators in the field

-Professional Engineers license

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

-PLC experience -Programming experience with C or C++ -NERC

Job Description:

Insight Global's renewable energy client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Potsdam, NY! In this role, you will manage the design, specification, cost, construction, and commissioning of capital improvement projects related to electrical power generation and distribution up to 115KV. You will provide engineering support to operational staff to improve reliability and performance, including troubleshooting equipment and determining failures. You will work with the interconnecting utility to identify the root cause of system faults or disturbances and conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes. Additionally, you will recommend corrective actions to management, maintain accurate engineering records, and review preventative maintenance reports to plan and prioritize budgeted work. You will also provide input on capital and operational expense budgeting.

Compensation:

$140K per year annual salary.
