Job Summary
Maintain all facilities, residences, and equipment throughout the Snowmass Club property.
Essential Functions
- Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems, and building structures of the club.
- Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers, and pool pumps.
- Familiarity with basic maintenance: painting, furniture repair, woodwork, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring.
- Effectively communicate with all departments and coworkers.
- Ability to perform strenuous snow removal.
- Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule; working most Holidays, and many weekends.
- Attends departmental staff meetings.
- Familiarity with basic maintenance in the following areas: painting, drywall, furniture repair, woodworking/carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, telephones, cable TV, appliance repair, AV electronic appliances, automotive, windows, screens.
- Ability to work with minimal or limited supervision.
- Ability to perform strenuous snow removal.
- Able to document work and write concise work orders.
- Maintain a polite and courteous attitude toward guests and coworkers. Effectively communicate with all departments and coworkers.
- Maintain an uncluttered and organized work area. Perform all tasks safely.
- Support management and co-workers to sustain a positive work environment.
- Willingness to learn new maintenance skills and seek training in all areas mentioned.
- Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule; working most Holidays, and many weekends.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Chief Engineer.
- Ensure all aspects of the Snowmass Club property and associated equipment are safe at all times for staff, members, and guests.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Post-secondary vocational/ technical training in electrical, plumbing, AV, HVAC, or refrigeration is desirable.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to email correspondence.
- Two years of maintenance experience in an institutional or business setting.
- Basic knowledge of trades and systems to diagnose problems and make minor repairs.
- General knowledge of power tools.
- Ability to work with minimal or limited supervision.
- Maintain a polite and courteous attitude toward guests and coworkers.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role during emergency situations
- Maintain an uncluttered and organized work area.
- Support management and co-workers to sustain a positive work environment.
- Willingness to learn new maintenance skills and seek training in all areas mentioned.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
