JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Graphic Designer possesses a distinctive creative perspective and excels in crafting exceptional designs, effortlessly transforming concepts into reality across all platforms. They will collaborate with and support various departments to create compelling visual assets that communicate our mission and purpose effectively to our community.


  • Report to Executive Vice President.
  • Meet with the executive team to discuss the business objectives.
  • Interpret the client's business needs and develop ongoing concepts to be distributed to clients and prospects.
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
  • Present finalized ideas and concepts to EVP.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media.
  • Develops a graphics asset library comprised of consistently styled, easily comprehensible designs that can be used for various media for HCFS.
  • Develops and designs products that promote the HCFS mission and services in printed and electronic formats, including, but not limited to flyers, infographics, advertisements, fact sheets, the reports, presentations, brochures, booklets, and graphics for social media and video, using copy and data provided by other members of HCFS.
  • Formulate basic layout design or presentation approach, specifying material details such as style and size of type, photographs, graphics, animation, video, and sound for all mediums. Ensure that all design-related information is kept current and archived.
  • Develops multiple ideas or concepts for graphic design assignments and presents them to individuals or a team.
  • Gathers information and materials for creative projects and assists in writing creative briefs.
  • Creates conceptual content (graphics, illustrations, and other design elements) for the HCFS website and social media platforms.
  • Designs presentations to support internal and external communications (PowerPoint).
  • Designs e-newsletters, cards, letterhead, reports, and other communications tools as needed for HCFS.
  • Maintains brand elements and guidelines for the HCFS.
  • Designs assets and templates for social media channels and fact sheets.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of company data.
  • Understand and comply with all company Privacy and Security standards.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Skilled in interpreting complex concepts and data into elegant, modern graphic assets.
  • Command of design, advertising, and marketing strategies, including principles of graphic design, grids, page layout, and typography essentials.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in digital communications and Web design principles.
  • Proficiency in designing for PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Canva and/or Other relevant software.
  • Illustration skills.
  • Skilled in print production and project quality assurance.
  • Ability to think critically and conceptually and articulate vision clearly.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, responsible, and solid communication skills.
  • Ability to research and comprehend complex information and transform the information into clear, engaging, visually appealing communication tools.
  • Ability to quickly locate and collect information to help design communication elements.
  • Ability to efficiently independently manage multiple projects, deadlines, and sources of information.
  • Ability quality check the work to ensure accuracy.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or a related field required.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years full-time experience either in-house or in-agency in design, advertising, marketing, public relations, or related field required.
  • 3 years design, layout, infographics, production, and project management skills for digital, print, and campaign required.
  • Experience creating and manipulating multi-media projects, including photography, text, and digital artwork required.
  • Experience with branding, social media design, illustration, and photo/video editing preferred.
