Senior Millwork Engineer

Overview:

Southern Pride Custom Cabinets is seeking an experienced Millwork Engineer for its cabinetry production facility in Madison, AL. The Senior Millwork Engineer reports to the General Manager.

• Leads the company’s engineering and drafting department.
• Responsible for scheduling the drafting of company shop drawings to meet the schedules agreed to.
• Responsible for engineering of company millwork assemblies, incorporating intent of architectural drawings and specifications with input from company estimating, project management, field operations and production personnel to produce detailed millwork shop drawings that will lead to the company’s high quality architectural millwork.
• Responsible for developing drafting department and training PM’s to be proficient in Cabinet Vision.

Responsibilities:

• Create efficient Cabinet Vision drawings and programs.
• Create custom programming using AlphaCAM.
• Design and create shop drawings in AutoCAD.
• Work with estimating and project management to establish shop drawings schedule.
• Establish and maintain work phases and material codes for each project.
• Review estimate and architectural drawings and specifications to be prepared for engineering issues specific to each shop drawing.
• Create and maintain consistency of company shop drawings and engineering standards.
• Research new products and materials as required for specific projects.
• Facilitate department communication with project management and production personnel.
• Travel to project sites and supplier sites as necessary.
• Provide pro-active communication of project issues with company management.
