HW Regulatory Compliance Engineer , eero

As a Compliance Engineer, you will be experienced in Radio Frequency (RF), ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Safety, and Energy Efficiency certification processes. You will have familiarity with North American and Global standards and compliance requirements. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative wireless products to meet high performance bar. You will work closely with internal interdisciplinary teams to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open collaborative peer environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Work closely with HW design team, FW team, product team, and international team by researching and specifying regulatory and industry certification requirements.
2. Plan and direct compliance testing of hardware platforms, devices, and accessories.
3. Support the design team through product execution, assisting them to meet all applicable hardware compliance requirements.
4. Perform fast-paced, detailed, and results-oriented independent research and literature reviews to yield actionable conclusions to initially ambiguous questions when necessary.
5. Deliver concise and informative compliance updates to management and collaborate with the legal team to navigate complex compliance issues.
6. Submit filings to obtain certifications including domestic (FCC) and international certifications (ISED/CE/MIC/KCC/NCC, etc.) and NRTLs, and other regulatory bodies.
7. Work with manufacturing partners to test and ensure all in-production devices remain compliant with all certifications.
8. Travel 25% of work time when necessary.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor degree in RF or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in wireless regulatory compliance, testing, and certifications.
• 3+ years of experience with wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, GPS, WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G), etc.
• 2+ years of experience in wireless certification and/or homologations for international countries.
• Experience in test setup with signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, call box, semi-anechoic chambers, OTA chamber, etc.
• Program management skills in driving certification labs, effectively prioritizing testing plans and achieving deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience on 6GHz WLAN Products.
• Experience on Access Point for Global Market Access.
• Experience with standards development, industry advocacy groups, and regulatory committees.
• Experience obtaining various industry certifications (e.g., BT SIG, WFA, etc.).
• Experience on safety compliance.
• Experience on environmental compliance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
• Experience on automation and/or Python Scripts is a good to have but not required.
