Utilities Engineering ManagerActalent Engineering is seeking a Utilities Engineering Manager to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of highly skilled engineering staff while ensuring that company objectives and goals are met. The Engineering Manager will also be expected to assist in technical development of employees in their charge and will be asked to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) based on specific experience in either transmission, substation, renewables or distribution.The Utilities Engineering Manager will work in office in one of four offices Tuesday- Thursday each week, Monday and Friday are remote.Office locations include: San Diego, Denver, Houston, Orlando.Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product linesFacilitate communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring expectations regarding budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understoodReview work and projects for technical accuracyEstablish, implement, and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and standardsMaintain knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve production efficiencyRecruit, interview, hire, and train new engineering staffOversee the daily workflow of the departmentProvide constructive and timely performance evaluationsOversee and mentor engineers that may or may not have a similar technical background /technical disciplineRequirements:Bachelors degree in Engineering required; Masters degree preferredEight to ten years minimum of related experience required i n one or all of the following areas of expertise for utility-scale projects : Transmission Line Design (PLS-CADD), Substation Design, Renewables Design (BESS/PV), Technical Distribution DesignLicensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) within the United States, with the ability to obtain other state licenses through reciprocityThorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteriaAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
